With the tremendous success of “Almost Acappella” Collectables soon asked for a second album. We titled it “Absolutely Acappella”.
This album is 100% PURE ACAPPELLA! No instrumentation whatsoever. Once again, ten great classic hits from the fifties and sixties, performed exactly the way they were originally conceived on the street corner. The simple beauty of five unique voices blended so tightly that they become one.
Our primary goal as we entered this project was to match or surpass the quality of the first album. People really loved “Almost Acappella”, and we did not want to disappoint our fans with our second effort.
We spent many hours in the song selection process, soliciting input from our fans. The ten tunes on this album represent a good cross section of music from that period.
As we moved through the process we were extra critical of each performance. We asked John Carpenter, our production engineer to focus upon each note and give us the up front in your face presence that would make the album great. He delivered big time!
Once again, the folks at Collectables were elated. We were able to retain the great harmonic magic that attracted their attention to us in the beginning and deliver a second album that lived up to the high standard that they had come to expect from Harbor Lights. They absolutely loved “Absolutely Acappella”.
