I have always loved the arts,
and every aspect of them. From an early age, I learned to sing
along with the radio, and my parents always had soundtracks from
musicals playing.
During high school I attended
the Art Institute of Chicago, and played in my first group which
was country based. I played Banjo and guitar, and wrote many
compositions for the group.
I advanced on to radio commercials
and performances, and attended Elmhurst Music Business College.
I continued performing with bands and did voice over work and
narrations for documentaries and media advertising.
I have performed vocally and
instrumentally with various groups over the years. Rock and Roll,
Country, Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Motown, and Oldies.
Recently, I attended Chicago
Players workshops, studying Improvisational comedy / acting,
which I enjoy very much.
I currently teach a night class
at Indiana University Northwest titled "Voice Over for Fun
and Profit." In this class I introduce the world of copy-
writing, character voices, narration, and public speaking techniques,
as well as acting & improvisational skills for fun or profit.
I write and illustrate children's
stories. I have twenty five finished pieces in all. I am currently
working on my first animation project for one of these stories.
What makes me smile more than
anything? It's Harbor Lights! These are my best friends. No words
can express the total satisfaction of combining five voices into
harmony, and witnessing the smiles on the audiences faces when
they realize that there are no instruments. I love it!
This is without doubt the most
exciting a capella group out there today.
We are indeed all the best
of friends, and intend to stay together as long as fate allows.
My heart and my home are here: with Harbor Lights.
